TEENS-IN-FLIGHT

A 501 (c) 3 foundation formed to support the families of our military.

Mission Statement: Through the modem of aerospace education we open the doors of opportunity.  Teens-In-Flight provides flight training and aviation maintenance scholarships to those teens who have lost a parent in the Global War on Terrorism or, is the teen of a parent who was wounded in action and is disabled. Another phase of our program also focuses on selected teens that are considered "at risk" within our community by providing a positive aviation intervention experience.

FORT CARSON PROJECT

Teens-In-Flight, in partnership with A-Cent Aviation, is now accepting applications from qualified teenagers (13-19) to offer them a scholarship, valued at $9,000.00, to earn their Private Pilot License.   Teens-In-Flight provides flight training and aviation maintenance scholarships to those teens that have lost a parent in the Global War on Terrorism or, is the teen of a parent who was wounded in action and is disabled.  Applications may be downloaded from our website (www.teens-in-flight.com).  Applications are due no later than 31 August 2009.

Teens-in-Flight — takes off in Colorado Springs. Teens who have had a parent killed in action or severely disabled in support of the Global War on Terrorism, are “at risk,” or from low-income families may be eligible for free training leading to a private pilot’s license. Applicants must be 13 or older, still be in school and have a 2.5 grade point average, pass a drug screening, pass an oral board and be recommended by the district school board superintendent or his or her designated representative. Also, applicants must send in a 1,000 word essay on “Why I want to fly” to teensinflight@aol.com by May 26. Lessons will be held locally and services have been donated by Colorado Springs companies.
